My Nine Lives![]() Marion Fields Wyllie was born October 26, 1906 near Collingwood, Ontario. Her autobiography, My Nine Lives, will be published on her 100th birthday, October 26, 2006. It is, she says, "the story of my life so far." Marion describes her early schooling in the Georgian Bay region, trying to get work during the Depression, meeting and marrying her husband Victor, and the challenges of parenting their three sons. An award-winning author, Marion's observations on the past century are intriguing. She was there (age 3) when the first airplane flew over Toronto and she remembers when running water and electricity replaced outhouses and oil lamps. My Nine Lives is a remarkable chronicle from an extraordinary centenarian. For much of her life, Marion has been committed to documenting her thoughts and experiences in prose and poetry. She has self-published five chapbooks and two haiku calendars, as well as several children's books and skits for amateur actors. Marion is the founder of the Grey-Bruce Writers' Club which continues to meet and provide support for many local writers.
