Reds of Grey![]() This long-awaited cookbook combines the culinary skills of many of the finest Grey County cooks with the region's best-known agricultural product - apples. Along with dozens of recipes for "Befores, Durings, Afters, and Go-withs" Reds of Grey includes a history of Grey County apple-growing, a description of local apple varieties and their uses, and a list of roadside stands and farmers' markets which offer Grey County apples for sale during the fall harvest season. At only 87 calories each, apples are a low-cal, low-cost healthy food, and they are the only locally-grown fruit available fresh to Canadians during the winter months. By including the best recipes from some of our most enthusiastic cooks, Reds of Grey will help to bring apples back to the table for both residents and tourists. Reds of Grey is the first of a series of community cookbooks featuring items grown in the Grey/Bruce region. We are now collecting recipes for a new cookbook celebrating the potato. $9.95
